Ozias Partridge was born in Medway in eastern Massachusetts in 1763. Like many young men in that region at that time, he served in the Continental Army in the Revolutionary War  as the American forces fought to contain the British in Boston. Ozias accumulated one year of service in the period 1778 – 1780. He married Zipporah Townsend in 1787 in MA and the couple lived in Boylston MA in the period 1790 - 1800. By 1820 they had moved to Chenango County in upstate New York.

Ozias and Zipporah Partridge had 2 sons: Ozias Jr. and Solomon. Ozias Sr. lived with his son Ozias Jr. in Reading in the Finger Lakes Region of New York, where he died in 1837 and where Zipporah died in 1843. The burial locations of Ozias Sr. and Zipporah are unknown. No monument or grave marker commemorates the service of the forgotten patriot Ozias Partridge.
